In order to create change, victims (men, women, and children) and the victims’ children should find a group nearby that specifically deals with helping domestic violence victims. This is a long-term solution, it takes time to break down what happened, why it happened, and how these actions are unacceptable and shouldn’t be imitated. Attending a group should be a regular thing in order to fully feel supported, heard, and in return, understand why these actions are not okay and shouldn’t be duplicated. People can do this individually (one-on-one with a professional), in a group (several victims sharing with each other with a professional), or in a similar age group (Ex: teens talking to each other with a professional).
